Franz Brümmer

Prof. Dr. Franz Brümmer is professor and head of the Research Unit Biodiversity and Scientific Diving at the Institute for Biomaterials and Biomolecular Systems at the University of Stuttgart, Germany. He investigates nanobiotechnological and biomimetic aspects of functional structures at the micro- and nanometer scale and the underlying biomaterials for the generation and optimization of functional materials, as well as biologically active agents. His primary focus also includes scientific diving education as part of the Technical Biology M.Sc. program at the University of Stuttgart. He is a founding member of the organization aquatil, which offers the development, implementation and evaluation of water and underwater projects for the research and education sectors on a non-profit basis.
