In his lecture, photographer Niklas Marc Heinecke gives an insight into an extraordinary and daring sailing trip. Niklas and his skipper Joscha sail from Germany via Norway, the Shetland Islands and the Faroe Islands, past Iceland and Greenland, along the east coast of Canada and the USA, all the way to the Caribbean. The two adventurers let themselves be driven by the wind and their curiosity for 10,000 nautical miles. On their route across the North Atlantic, they feel the cold creeping into their bunks. The storms that slap them in the face. The awe that grows with the waves. But when Niklas and Joscha drop anchor somewhere in the middle of nowhere, they are rewarded for their hardships: with wild archipelagos, imposing glaciers and a nature that is there just for them.
