Golden Globe Race - Solo, Nonstop, Around the World
30.000 Miles, non-stop, alone and without assistance.
Like the original Sunday Times event, the Golden Globe Race is very simple: Depart from Les Sables-d’Olonne, France, sail solo, non-stop around the world, via the five Great Capes and return to Les Sables-d’Olonne. All entrants are limited to the same equipment that was available in 1968 and are thus navigating their 36 feet long keel sailboats by sextant and paper charts only. No GPS, no high-tech. Simply sailing.
