Self-build trimaran for circumnavigation

Fred Kuhlmann has built a trimaran. The special thing about it: The hulls were created as you know it from tinkering with papier-mâché. Layer for layer built on a bubble.

Fred Kuhlmann presents the experimental construction of his long-distance trimaran with a length of 11.50 meters. The crack is his own design and development. The special feature: The hull is made of GRP sandwich but without a mold. Instead, it was laminated on a bubble filled with air.

In addition to the construction method, the tri is also an eye-catcher above deck: Two A-masts with flying sails provide propulsion, and together with solar energy, the tri is said to be almost emission-free underway.
