With clavichord across the Atlantic

A sailing trip from Neuss to New Zealand was planned as the first stage of a circumnavigation. The first leg of the journey was on the Prout Quest 31 catamaran "Vagabund" up the Rhine and Moselle rivers. Then the journey led via canals and the Rhone to the Mediterranean. This was followed by the crossing of the Atlantic and sailing in the Caribbean. After sailing through the Panama Canal, the general course was set in the Pacific Ocean towards the Galapagos. However, due to adverse weather conditions, this route had to be aborted and a stop in Costa Rica lasting several months was scheduled. The voyage came to an early end when the catamaran, which weighed almost 5 tons, attempted to land there.
